Over the past few decades, there has been increasing evidence that breastfeeding is good for health, and suggestions for putting it into practice have continued to increase. Currently, the World Health Organization believes that breastfeeding can reduce child mortality and that its health benefits can continue into adulthood. In this study, the guiding route of breastfeeding in obstetric nursing is researched. The control group was given routine care, and the observation group was given breastfeeding guidance pathway intervention based on the control group. After nursing, the breastfeeding success rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group. The scores of nursing knowledge and self-care skills of the two groups were higher than those before the nursing, and the observation group was higher than the control group. The differences were statistically significant. It is known from the experimental results that the intervention of breastfeeding guidance pathways in obstetric nursing management can effectively improve the degree of neonatal nursing knowledge and self-care skills and improve the success rate of breastfeeding. © 2020, Instituto de Investigaciones Clinicas.
